Privacy Policy

Loop Alert ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App uses, how it is used, and your choices. We do not require an account, and we never sell your data or share it with advertisers or data brokers.

What We Do Not Collect

• No account or login is required.
• No personal information such as your name, email, or phone number is requested.
• No advertising or third-party tracking SDKs are included.
• No cookies are used.
• We do not build user profiles or track you across apps or websites.

Transit Predictions

The App fetches real-time bus and train arrival predictions from the official Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) public APIs. These requests are routed through our server (Cloudflare Workers) to protect API credentials. The server does not log these requests in a way that identifies you.

Accuracy. Predictions are estimates published by the CTA and refreshed about every 30 seconds, whether the App is open or closed. Between refreshes a vehicle can move a long way, so a countdown can drop by several minutes at once and an alert may fire with less notice than the threshold you chose, or occasionally after the vehicle has passed. Loop Alert is provided as a convenience and does not guarantee that you will catch any vehicle.

Alerts & Push Notifications

When you set an alert for a specific vehicle, the App sends the details needed to monitor that arrival to our server so we can notify you even when the App is closed. This includes:

• An anonymous Apple Push Notification (APNs) device token for your device;
• The alert details you chose — transit mode, route, stop, vehicle identifier, direction, and your selected alert threshold.

This information is used solely to track your selected vehicle and deliver your alert. It is not linked to your identity, is not used for advertising, and is removed from active monitoring once the alert fires or is cancelled. The push token is an app-specific identifier and cannot be used to identify you personally.

Location

If you use the optional "Stops Near Me" feature, the App requests "When In Use" location access and sends your approximate coordinates to our server to return the closest CTA stops. Your location is used only to answer that request and is not stored or associated with you. If you do not use this feature, no location data is sent.

On-Device Data

Your saved stops, alert preferences, and alert history are stored locally on your device only. If you delete the App, this local data is removed.

Third-Party Services

• CTA Bus Tracker & Train Tracker APIs — provide real-time predictions. Operated by the Chicago Transit Authority.
• Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — delivers alert notifications to your device. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
• Cloudflare — hosts the server that proxies CTA data and monitors your active alerts.
• Apple App Store — handles subscriptions and payments. Subject to Apple's privacy policy. We never receive your payment details.

Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will post the revised version at this URL with an updated effective date.
